Morning Facetime: Finding Connection!
Written by: Wale Arshad
I’m sure many couples can relate to this—wanting to connect, to check in, to just be together—but struggling to find the time.
In our home, evenings are a whirlwind. Between work obligations, after-school activities, dinner, and bedtime routines, our nights are usually spoken for. And carving out a traditional “date night”? That often feels like trying to plan a vacation in the middle of a busy workweek.
But then it dawned on me: the goal isn’t necessarily date night. The goal is connection.
So one week, we tried something different—we made space in the morning to connect. Just a short, uninterrupted block of time before the chaos began.
That morning Facetime reminded me that connection doesn’t have to be reserved for dinner reservations or weekends. It can happen whenever we choose to prioritize it—whether that's a 10-minute morning chat, a midday walk, or a quick check-in while folding laundry.
